Your Big Data Architecture Matters A Lot. Here’s Why.

By on March 11, 2015

Architecture really matters when it comes to big data. It matters when it comes to getting the most out of the platform today, and more importantly it matters in terms of not locking yourself into certain decisions or limiting your options in the future.

We’ll dig into each of the following aspects of Big Data architecture in future posts, but if you’re interested in learning about the topic as a whole, definitely give this webinar (which was produced by our CTO and director of product management) a watch.

1) Datameer’s Architecture: A look at Datameer’s Architecture, specifically how we chose to architect our system to let you get the most out of Hadoop now and into the future as well.

2) Taking Full Advantage of All That Hadoop Has to Offer: Outside of Datameer, we cover some tips and tricks about configuring Hadoop and using Hadoop in a way that lets you get the most out of it. Hadoop is such an open-ended technology with lots of different capabilities. There are many different ways in which you can leverage it, and there are definitely better or worse ways to do that. A lot of companies are stumbling and finding those choices to be very difficult.

3) Why a Smart Execution Engine Matters: When it comes to looking at your analytics execution engine, we discuss why having what we call Smart Execution matters in terms of future-proofing your architecture and getting more out of Hadoop.

4) Pros and Cons of Various Big Data Analytics Architectures: Various different architectural choices for both implementations of Hadoop as well as products that work with Hadoop. We compare and contrast the different options and talk about the pros and cons of those different architectural options.
