What to Expect From Datameer in 2017

Back in 2009 when Datameer first hit the market, it was the early days of big data, before big data was the bandwagon every company tried to hitch their wagon to. It was the first data analytics software to run natively on this new open-source storage-and-compute engine called Hadoop. It was the only solution on the market that allowed analysts to work with big data at scale in a familiar spreadsheet interface, instead of having to hand-code their own solutions to take advantage of Hadoop. It was truly groundbreaking, and our earliest customers like Visa, Sophos and Sears all recognized the value Datameer brought to the table immediately.

Fast-forward to today, and as competitors have come and gone, we’ve never once lost sight of our earliest vision. Every year, with every product release, we have continued to push the envelope and deliver even more value to our customers. We fundamentally have changed how businesses work with their data to gain competitive advantage. And as we proved that, our customer base, and employee base, continued to grow quite rapidly.

Today I am thrilled to announce that after decades of experience leading teams and driving sales at companies like SAP and Teradata, I’ve joined the Datameer team as CEO. With the history and positive track record that precedes me, I don’t take this role lightly. I owe it to our team, to our customers, to the market, to continue our mission to make big data analytics easy for everyone. And with the help of our amazing team, we’ll do just that.

So what should you expect from Datameer in 2017? Cryptically, I can tell you you’ll want to stay tuned. Our amazing product and engineering team are working hard on a project that will change the game once again. I’ve gotten an early demo, and I can not express how excited the engineering team is about what they’re working on. And rightfully so.

I am 100 percent bullish about the future of Datameer. Keep watching. And if you haven’t already, be sure to request a demo to see exactly what I’m talking about.
