World Economic Factors

The World Economic Factors application highlights key global macroeconomics indicators such as unemployment rates, per capita GDP, and oil imports and exports.

Infographic 

The application integrates, correlates, and plots geo-referenced data and performs time series analysis, the results of which are displayed in the following widgets:

  • The Global Unemployment Rates map displays unemployment rates across select countries around the world.
  • The Countries with the highest Per Capita GDP pie chart compares countries with highest quality of lives in terms of GDP per capita.
  • The Historical & Predicted GDP Growth graph tracks the trend of GDP growth rate for major countries over time including both past and predicted rate.  
  • The Oil Imports and Exports chart compares major countries in terms of their amount of oil imports and exports.

Workbooks

The Macroeconomics Factors workbook joins macroeconomic factors with country longitude and latitude to populate the global unemployment rates in the infographic. To find highest GDP Per Capita, the Macroeconomics_Factors sheet is filtered for the GDP and is sorted in descending order for the top 20 countries. The data to populate the Historical & Predicted GDP Growth graph is plotted directly from Top 10 GDP file upload. The World Oil Import Export workbook is filtered for the year 2011 to show countries with export or import values greater than 10 billions dollars.
