Visual Exploration

Datameer's Visual Explorer is an interactive data analysis feature designed to quickly and easily understand your data. With the purchase of Visual Explorer, you can instantly explore up to billions of records with sub-second response times when optimally configured. The data is first displayed visually over different types of charts where you can drill in and add/adjust attributes or aggregations. When the initial data exploration has been completed, the findings are added to a worksheet within your workbook where further analysis can be made. Visual Explorer integrates with Hadoop via YARN working seamlessly on multi-tenant clusters.

Running Datameer in the Cloud

Setting up Datameer using Amazon Elastic MapReduce (EMR)

When you schedule Datameer jobs which require additional resources that are unavailable at busy times, elasticity can help by scaling so those resource needs are always met. Amazon EMR is supported by Datameer so you have the ability to expand or shrink your processing hours on hardware based on your needs. This also applies to ad hoc workloads that sometimes require less resources and sometimes require more. And EMR's scaling configurations free administrators from managing individual applications for resources across your enterprise.

Datameer Security

Changing ownership of a folder/file without a super group user

When authenticating to Datameer using the Native Multi User (NMU) secure impersonation method, there is no super group user to change ownership of files in the Datameer home folder in HDFS. The change of ownership is still possible through a process of copying a file or folder from the Datameer home folder to a new owner.

Permission setting terminology

The permission setting terminology has been updated for better comprehension and user readability.
