How-to: Import Excel Data (Even Existing Formula Results!) into Datameer

For this week’s Favorite Feature Friday, I wanted to show how easy it is to import Excel files into Datameer. Not only does Datameer read its raw data, but it also evaluates any existing formulas in the Excel sheet to pull those results in as well.

To start, select “New Import Job” and choose Excel Workbook as the file type to import.

I’ve used a fairly simple data set for this example, but the important point to note is that the last column is the sum of the “Business Value Previous” and “Cart Value.” Datameer will interpret the formula structure for this column during import.

Simply follow the import wizard, make sure the data looks correct in the preview, save the import job and voila. Here is what your final Datameer workbook will look like.
