Installing and Configuring DAS

Setup Guide

The Setup Guide is for people who are installing DAS for the first time. Check the requirements and supported platforms, then download and install DAS. Where to next? The Concepts Guide will help you get started or you can look at the DAS Video Tutorials.

Administrator's Guide

The Administrator's Guide is for people with DAS administration rights. It will help you set up users and data stores, import data, set up jobs, configure the Hadoop cluster settings, database drivers and email server. You may also find the Hadoop and DAS, FAQ, and Support Forum useful.

Hadoop and DAS

The Hadoop and DAS is for people with DAS administration rights. It will help you set up and configure the Hadoop cluster settings for several different environments, learn about and use third-party monitoring software, and learn about using DAS and Hadoop with VMware.

Using DAS

DAS User's Guide

The Users Guide is for analysts, system administrators – anyone who uses DAS. It helps you get started accessing data, working with workbooks, and analyzing data.  Try creating a worksheet, then add formulas, sort or filter the data and use the widgets to create a dashboard that lets you visualize your data different ways.

DAS Functions

The DAS Functions Guide explains how to use the Formula Builder and then provides a reference to the more than 175 built-in functions that are available to you.  In addition, because DAS is extensible, you can use functions from third-party tools or write your own commands.

Extending DAS

Developer Guide

The Developer Guide resources are for software developers who want to create their own plugins for DAS. Take a look at the Developer Tutorials and the API Documentation.

Evaluating DAS

The Evaluating DAS resources are for people who want to take a closer look at DAS. You can evaluate DAS in the cloud on Amazon EC2 or you can try DAS in a standalone environment using a VMware image. You can read more about both options and evaluate DAS using the choice that is best for you.
